"Candidates are living in a new media ecology that rewards speed, and there is no faster way to distribute your message intact than over Twitter," said Andrew Rasiej, the founder of Personal Democracy Media which tracks the intersection of media and politics.
Even president elects are using Twitter to promote themselves in the eye of the public. This free service will allow low financial candidates a chance to get the publicity they need to run for president! This article is very interesting and says it all!

Hey Matt,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the article it was interesting. I am still on the fence about the usefulness of Twitter and everyday it is becoming more and more apparent that it is quite useful. Businesses have been using Twitter for promotion, so why not political candidates. They can get their messages out quickly and reach a lot of people in the process. Now the hard part is getting the general public to actually believe them. =) Anyways, thanks again for the article. I need all the help I can get to push me into actually using Twitter!
Hey Matt,
ReplyDeleteTahnks for posting the link to the article, I thought it was a great read and very informational. As much as I hate to say this, I do see Twitter as having utility in the field of politics. It allows any candidate the option to gain publicity without a cost! We are told as kids, we can do anything we want, well in this day in age if we want to be President we need a large sum of money to even attempt to run for office. With Twitter and the internet in general, I see a route of avoiding the notion we need money to run for President/office.
